What are the benefits of quitting smoking?
There are quite a number of benefits the most important to which you will only realize when you are older is your health. Once you get old and start seeing your friends and family dying of a smoking cancer related disease that’s when it hits home. If you continue to smoke that’s pretty much what will happen to you. Sure some people can live to a hundred and still smoke but seriously do you want to take that chance.
Another benefit is money, sure smokes don’t cost that much but it adds up. Take your daily cigarette count and work out how many boxes you go through a week, then a month, then a year. You might find out why you never have the money for all those extra things. Remember that when you drink you smoke more too, so remember to add that into your equation.
The smell of smoke is disgusting – you will probably only realize this once you have quit for awhile. You always think I could never smell but honestly yes you do. If you go to a bar or club where people have been smoking you can smell it the next day on your clothes on your hair. Same for when you have just finished a cigarette, sure perhaps not all the time you can smell it but once you start getting up to around your fifth smoke, yes it does start to get overpowering.
Second hand tobacco smoke – Yep unfortunately you are harming those around you to. Sure you might not care at the moment but from time to time you might come across someone you offend by your smoking. I’ve witnessed this first hand where someone was smoking while outside, they flicked the ash, as you do and a breeze brought a bit of that into some babies eye. Well I am just glad my bus pitched up so I didn’t have to listen to that wailing.
